New Tech Network's (NTN) school environments are different. It should come as no surprise that teachers are asked to grade differently as well. The Five New Tech Network Learning Outcomes assess students based on a holistic picture of their work while keeping up with the requirements of standardized testing.
The Outcomes Are:
- Knowledge and Thinking
- Oral Communication
- Written Communication
- Collaboration
- Agency
For each assignment, a student is given a separate grade for each of these standards, and the combined grade becomes their overall score. If you took a poll of New Tech Network students, they would likely pick Agency, the ability for a student to take control of their own learning, as the cornerstone of NTN's work. NTN's Learning Management System, Echo®, makes this seemingly complicated grading process a breeze.
